More New Dresses

Hittys Sunshine and Violette are modeling their new dresses! I think Tang is a little jealous as he’s always naked! 🤪

I’ve also been busy making dresses by hand. I usually sew on my sewing machine but I’ve been enjoying hand stitching at the moment. So Hitty April got a new dress and she is ready for summer!

When we travel, I always try to have Hitty dresses prepared to sew. I do some of the machine sewing on my sewing machine before we leave and then I finish up by hand.  This is the dress Hitty Sunshine got and she was eager to show you. She picked out the fabric with lemons and said it would look good with her complexion.

Gotta keep my fingers busy!

Redoing the Kitchen

Becassine has decided the kitchen in the pink House was just too busy for her. She got rid of the huge red cabinet and brought in her new Hoosier. She is going to hang some thing on the wall too. Now, the Hoosier is actually cardstock glued to foam board! Isn’t it amazing!

One more peep at the Hoossier cabinet.

Becassine has been so busy in the kitchen - remodeling! She got a new/old stove. I sort of did the same thing when making it as I did on the Hoosier. I found an image of an old iron stove I liked and then I cropped, cloned, took away and added what I wanted to make it mine. I added the back piece. Anyway, it is what it is but I think it works fine with the kitchen. Hope you like it.

Becassine says now the kitchen is more to her liking!

Special Dress Fabric

Hitty April is so excited to show off her dress and bonnet from Wendi Dunn's fabric. Wendi has a sharp eye and realized the dress fabric was printed wrong so she contacted Spoonflower and they sent me another fabric panel that was printed correctly. The plus for me was I didn't have to send the fabric back so, wrong or not, I had two panels then. Now the dress fabric was mirrored when it was printed so it was incorrect and the bonnet fabric was printed the correct way. Anyway, I think the fabric looks darling and Hitty April is pretending she is a guest on the TV show 'Little House on the Prairie'! These little wooden dolls and their imagination!

RV Trip

We are off on a trip and Hittys Violette, April and Sunshine got the opportunity to go!

We are on an RV trip and Hittys  April and Violette are loving the beautiful smell of my Mother’s Day roses(I cut the stems off and brought them with me) but Sunshine insisted on sitting atop them!!

Uh oh! The girls got outside and I found them climbing up the power cord! What am I going to do?? Lord, have mercy!

After I told the girls they could really get hurt climbing on things, they settled down. I found the girls out on the patio table reading ‘Hitty, Her First HundredYears’. Hope they don’t get any ideas!

What a day these little wooden heads have had. They are all tuckered out so I tucked them in for a nice sleep. Good night, little Hittys.

Quilts!

I wanted to show you the new quilts for my Hitty's bunk beds I made! This is the fabric from Wendi Dunn and is selling on Spoonflower. I think they turned out so very cute. I made each lining a different color to add some interest to the little quilts.

The quilts are good for story time too! The Hittys are loving their Becassine. They are enjoying hearing her stories about France and her coming over to America on a cruise ship. The babies have calmed down, Tang and JJ are being so good and the Hittys are learning so much from her. Here they all are having a nice story time. Some of the girls on the floor got a little chilly so they cozied up under their new blankies! Life is good!

I am also very happy to show you the little Hitty quilts made from the same fabric! Isn’t this just the sweetest fabric? I was able to get six quilts from the material sent to me!

In case you were wondering how I made these little quilts, I cut the quilt fabric the size I needed and then cut a backing about an inch or so bigger. I sewed around the quilt fabric and lining fabric with wrong sides together. Then the excess fabric on the lining fabric was ironed down and flipped over onto the quilt fabric and whipped stitched around it to have a little border! Fun and easy!

Life is good and very cozy!

Baby Sitting

Well, Becassine has her work cut out for her. Yesterday was a full day with the babies and as you can see they were little stinkers! She chased and yanked and pulled them off of the furniture, from under the furniture and from on top of the furniture! By the afternoon Becassine was pooped! Lord have mercy. I sure hope she doesn't go back to France!

Finally the babies settled down!

The babies love Becassine but Tang is a little jealous. He’ll get over it. Hitty Violette is peeping in just to check how things are going. I think we are going to make it!

Carving a Becassine

If there are babies in a household - you must have a babysitter. So we need a Becassine. Well, since I was on a carving spree, I carved one! I took liberties with my Becassine and gave her hair and a mouth. If she is going to take care of the babies - she’s gotta talk! I could have sanded her a little more but I was hurrying. As you can see she is nekkid (that’s Texan for naked).

The real Becassine was probably younger, but as I said I took liberties!

 Becassine is all dressed now!

Here is her little hat, it probably has a name . She wanted red checks because she is French!

Here you can see how I made the tip of her “hat” stand up-just a little stitch. On her profile you can see her little button nose.

She is excited to get to work and take care of the Hittys and babies.
