Boo!

This is Hitty Addie's very first Halloween! She was so excited and wanted to dress up and go trick or treating but she didn't want to be scary!

So I made her a Little Red Riding Hood costume. A little white dress with a red belt and red rose. I crocheted her a little red cape with a hood and found her a cute little pumpkins treat bag. 

Oh my goodness! A wolf showed up and she was so scared! The wolf said, "Don't worry, I'm just out to get some candy." So they became fast friends and went door to door together.

You just never know.

Day By Day

 Life if going smoothly with all of the Hittys in the same house...so far

They took their new dolls and went to the park to play! They found a perfect little bicycle to ride. They were so sweet and took turns.

Day in and day out the girls are so good at doing their chores and keeping their home looking nice

 I made a little topsy turvy doll for a friend's new baby and made the mistake of showing it to the Hittys! They had a fit and wanted it for themselves and were just crawling all over the doll. I told them a promise was a promise and this doll was going to my friend and they would have to get over it.     They did.

 

We all prayed and I explained to them how important it was to think of others. So, we all went to church for the first time. They only had two little Bibles so they shared. 

It was a good day.

Time For Play

 

 After all the time it took to get moved in, Hitty Addie had a surprise for her sisters - she asked them to move in with her! They were all delighted and said YES!

 

A very deserved break to play! Yes, little girl dolls play with cars and trucks too!

The Hittys met their new neighbor, Loulou and Tang certainly approved.

 

 The girls have met Loulou's (right in the pink) sister, Rosette on the left. They are so happy to have these new neighbors to play with. Also they have a little dog named Pokey to play with Tang! We will see how that works out.

 

The Hittys all have been so sweet, I decided to crochet some new night clothes for them and they wanted to model for you. 

 

 

Oh, my goodness! Listen to all of that noise! I caught the girls having a pillow fight. Their giggles were so cute I just couldn't stop them! 

Finally all is calm and quiet. The Hittys are asleep - two in the bed and the other two are sleeping comfortably in the sleeping bags I made for them.

I'll Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

The day has come that Hitty Addie is ready to start bringing in some of her own things. She put on her overalls and called some friends to help her.

Here you will see Hittys Delilah, Evie and Annabelle. They also put on their overalls to get down to work. I decided I would try my hand at carving. The Hitty in the middle is Hitty Evie - my first carve. The Hitty in Red is Hitty Annabelle - my 2nd carve and the first one in green is Hitty Delilah - my latest carve. I know nothing about carving but have found out I do enjoy it. The girls are all just a little bit different in size. Hopefully I'll get better but hey - it's just play!

Okay, on with moving!

Oh good! The girls have shown up with the packed boxes. What fun it will be to see what Hitty Addie has in them.

Somehow Hitty Addie has lots of money and she has had new windows installed. Hitty Annabelle and Hitty Evie are cleaning the new window panes in the dining room while Hitty Addie supervises.

Oh, here's Hitty Delilah shining up the new window in the bedroom while Tang watches.

Hitty Addie is so pleased to have new windows installed and now she can peep out at the neighbors!

New Home Tour

Hitty Addie is so very excited to finally have her very own home and her new cat, Tang! Her friend Lola just left all of her furnishing as she was starting over with her life in Florida. These dolls have lots of money and can just buy all new furniture if they want!

Hitty Addie has her own furniture but she will just live with Lola's furniture for a while. Above is the living room and it does look rather cozy.

The dining room looks pretty nice. Tang, get off that table!

The kitchen is a nice size but it is just not Hitty Addie's style so there will be lots of changes in here.

How nice to have a sunroom and Hitty Addie likes it just the way it is! She picked up quite a few pumpkins at the grocery store!

The laundry room is nice with a washer and dryer, lots of storage and even a sewing maching!

The bathroom is nice too!

Now the bed sleeps very nice and Tang will always sleep with Hitty Addie. Ding Dong! Someone's at the door!

Hitty's neighbor, Samantha dropped in to welcome her to the neighborhood and talked about a Bible Study she attends. Hitty Addie is going to love her new life!

A Visit With A Little Friend

Hitty Addie got a phone call from her friend, Lola, whom she hadn't seen in such a long time. So she made preparations to go for a visit. 

Lola lives in a big pink house and Hitty Addie was so excited!

Here's Lola and Hitty Addie hugging each other and filled with joy!

Oh, they talked and talked and tried to catch up with each other on all of the things they have been doing. Lola had an orange tabby cat named Tang and he absolutely adored Hitty Addie and just never left her side!

Lola had a very nice kitchen and she and Hitty Addie prepared a very nice dinner as Tang looked on.

After dinner, Hitty Addie went to the laundry room and washed some clothes and then...

It was time for a long bubble bath. Aw...

The next morning it was time for more visiting in the sun room. There is Tang at Hitty Addie's feet.

Lola decided to throw a surprise party for Hitty Addie! The dining room was just packed with friends! Hitty Addie loved every minute of it.

Hitty Addie is so neat and always makes her bed. She was a little sad as her visit was coming to an end. But there was a surprise awaiting her.

Lola offered to sell her big pink house to Hitty Addie because she wanted to downsize and move to Florida! Hitty Addie thought, she had nothing really waiting on her or to go back to so she agreed! Lola also offered Tang to stay with Hitty Addie since she couldn't take him with her. Hitty Addie was totally thrilled! A new house, a new cat and now many new adventures ahead.

You Little Softie

When you're an only wooden doll child, it does begin to get a bit lonely. I had been looking on the internet and had seen some tiny little rag dolls and some cloth Hitty dolls. So I thought I would try my hand at making Hitty Addie some little friends.  

My first try was from a pattern by Sue Sizemore. I don't think I did a very good job putting them together but hey, these were my first two wee girls. They are also around 6" tall. I painted on their features, socks and shoes and little undies. They will get new dresses, I promise.

 

Hitty Addie was happy but she wanted more girls to play with so I came up with this little girl. She got dressed before she would let me take a picture. She's very timid.

 

I was on a roll, so I thought one more girl couldn't hurt! As you can see, Hitty Addie was so thrilled to have all these friends to play with.

I made one more Hitty friend, that's her on the right hand side. She turned out to be too tall but Hitty Addie and her friends did not care at all. They said - the more the merrier! You can see now they all have on their little dresses and look so nice. Poor Hitty Addie! She has played so hard that she is just so worn out! I think nap time is coming up.

 A girl just can't have enough dresses! Since Hitty Addie is new to this world, she insists on having quite a large wardrobe! So since I love her so much I comply.

Here she is in her pretty green dress with pretty daisy trim. She also wanted a bonnet and of course I made her one with the same trim.

She picked the ribbon for the back of her bonnet and wore it to church!

Hook and Thread

 

 

As I said in an earlier post, Hitty Addie is desperate to acquire a wardrobe. After all, she came into this world completely naked in her wooden birthday suit! So I let her pick out the color of thread for a new dress to be crocheted. She chose this pretty sea foam green and I went to town. I added a pretty ribbon with a little bow at her waist and thought she looked very lovely. I knew she would be happy. Uh uh!

A pretty new crocheted dress was not enough as Hitty Addie insisted on having a pretty hat to go along with her pretty dress! I caved. She was happy but still not satisfied...she wanted a stuffie! So...

I found her the perfect little stuffed rabbit. Even though you can't tell, Hitty Addie has a really big smile on her face.
