Just Another Day

The Hittys have decided to explore the main house for a time. I have found them all over the place!

They have discovered my collection of Staffordshire dogs and just fell in love with them! But...
When they saw Willow Dawn - they really fell in love with her! Willow was a little stunned to see such tiny little wooden dolls moving around. Look at Willow's face - her eyes are saying :what have you done to me?
At the end of the day, the Hittys met another neighbor and had her over for dinner. They are truly enjoying their new lives and are excited to get to decorating for Christmas.

More New Dresses

The dressing goes on.

Hittys Annabelle and Evie wanted new dresses too. They get so jealous if one Hitty gets a new dress and they all don't! So, as the wonderful mother to these little wooden girls, I do my best.
So above you see new dresses, the girls are happy and I'm pleased!

Tilda Time

Tilda Time

As I've told you before, I love making rag dolls! A few years ago I discovered Tilda! Tilda is a tall rag doll with a long neck, long arms, long legs, little head with just eyes and cheeks and a big wide bum! Her legs bend so she can sit and her little knees bend too.

This is my first Tilda! I fell head over heels over these dolls. Ignore the Note Songs 2013, that was my old blog that disappeared.
I didn't have a correct pattern as I was looking at these dolls on Pinterest and found some free patterns  so I just went to town trying to make a Tilda.

See, Tildas don't have mouths, that's just the way it is. But they have pretty pink cheeks and little beady eyes.

Now since I really didn't have a clue as to what I was doing, I found some curly twine to make her hair! You're supposed to use yarn, but hey, I had that nice twine!

I still would not give up. I had to try my had at another Tilda.
This is my June Cleaver Tilda. I made her all frilly with her little apron on and of course she is wearing her pearls around her skinny little neck and on her ears!

You can see June Cleaver Tilda's eyes are a little less beady! :)

Now I know June Cleaver didn't wear her hair up, but mine does and it's oh so neat just like June would have had her hair.

I have to leave you with a picture of my June Cleaver Tilda in the kitchen looking so pretty with a pretty dessert she made! You have to love a productive dolly!

Miss Sussanah

We are always in the Hitty mode at our house and I found a lovely shop on Etsy called Miss Susannah and she makes patterns for Hitty dolls. They are already printed out on cloth and you just cut them out, stuff and sew them up. Below you can see the different models she has.

 See? Easy Peasy!

I picked Spice and named her Hitty Ginger.

Of course she needed some clothes so I made her a cute little embellished with lace dress and matching pantaloons! Isn't she cute!!
Welcome to the world of Hitty, Hitty Ginger!

Hitty Swap

Hitty Swap!

We were just so excited to get to take part in a Hitty dress swap!! My partner was Mary.

This is what I created for Mary's Hitty. Two little dresses - one with a matching hat, the other with a little apron.

I got a little bit carried away and continued to make things. I crocheted a bed cover, pillow with pillow case and a little kitty cat.

Then my swap came to me from Mary! Woo hoo! Look at all of the lovely little things.
I had to set the scene and used my Hitty book opened to a wonderful page of joy to help show our feelings of woohooness!
Mary made this lovely Hitty box which contained many treasures. My Hitty received a lovely little Hanky dress with a bonnet, more little hats, some fabric pieces, a little Bible and clock and some crafts! Also a pillow and a basket with lovely little flowers!

We Felt Like New Dresses

The little Hittys are just amazing! They can do just anything. I couldn't find them and looked everywhere til I heard a little giggling and there they were - in my sewing room!

They were all naked as a Jay bird and measuring and cutting on pieces of felt!                                          I asked, "What in the world as y'all doing?"                                                                                                 "We are going to make us some dresses from felt!"
After a little time they called me back in and said - look at us!

There they stood in felt dresses! They all looked so cute and like a rainbow. But they were not finished! No! They were going to embellish their dresses. They told me to go away. So I did.

Shortly, they called me back in and said, "Look at us!" Oh, their little dresses were so pretty with beads, buttons and embroidery! I was really impressed. They wanted to feel very important so I am showing you them individual with their new dresses.
