Hitty Crate Room Box House

I have been so inspired by so many of my Hitty Friends showing their room boxes so I had to do something too! I went to Hobby Lobby and bought three crates and stacked them atop each other and thought - this will work.

The crate/room box sits on an antique thread table. My room is very small and you can see where I stash stuff! Hmmm, I think a little table skirt is in order here.
Here you can see the upstairs windows with their lace curtains. It looks like I was all talented and painted the trim with pretty swirls and flowers, but I didn't, I found these images and modge podged them down. Pretty clever, huh?

This is the attic window so the Hitty can stash stuff.

Now we are down to the ground floor. I made the door from foam core board and scored it to look like planks of wood. The windows are really little miniature windows for real dollhouses but I just cut out a hole and glued them in, The Hittys love the color pink so pink became the door and windows and accents. The siding is just printed cardstock and glued down. The Hittys insisted on some outdoor furnishing so I made some from foam core board. I do believe foam core board is my best friend

Wonderful! The girls have tried out the porch furniture and they like it! They really like it! Success!

So this is the front of our Hitty Crate Room Box House. The front is actually just decorated foam core board and when you remove it - the crates are behind it! I'm so talented like that, you know!

Carving Again

Here I go carving again. I had three Hittys in my head who wanted to be carved! So, I went to town and carved Hitty Faith, Hitty Hope and Hitty Charity. Now, I just can't get away from big eyes. I don't start out to paint big eyed Hittys but they beg me for big eyes - so my Hittys have big eyes! Hope you like my new girls.

Here is a closeup of their little faces.

Well, I do believe I've started something! Hitty Faith and Hitty Charity wanted a makeover after Hitty Hope was given a face redo. Good grief! You can see them below.

I told the girls I am finished and they will just have to be satisfied with the way they look. Lord, have mercy!

After the makeovers, there must be clothes, as we can't have naked Hittys! These girls requested crocheted rompers with hats to match. I do aim to please these little ones.

The girls got new night gowns and of course they wanted to show you.

Alice In Wonderful

My Hitty girls were reading Alice in Wonderland and just loved it. They wanted so much to meet her… so I tried my hand at carving Alice and here she is…not perfect but my Hittys are thrilled. She is carved from butternut wood.

Here is a close up of Alice. I really like the grain in the butternut wood but it didn't look good
on her face so I painted her a pink complexion. I made a happy mistake - while carving her lip, it cracked off so now she is laughing!

I know Alice is supposed to have longer hair but hey, she’s a girl and I know she will want to change clothes.

Oh, I just thought of something! Maybe I should try to carve a rabbit.

Carving More Hittys

Here I go again - I carved another Hitty and this is Hitty Rayne. I just can't stop, don't want to stop carving. Am I getting any better - I really don't know. I'm getting faster but I still am not pleased with the faces - they don't look like the Hitty face in my head. Agh!!

I carved another Hitty doll and I would like to introduce you to Hitty Lacey. I think she and Hitty Rayne look similar. I'm happy with her and she is happy to be alive. I made her a sunshiny new dress.

I do think I need to take a carving break as my tiny hands are getting the "ouchies" again.

Meet Hitty Marigold

Meet Hitty Marigold! Her wooden blank was kinda crumbly and little pieces would drop off when I carved , you can see the little crack on her bottom lip. But none the less, I’m pleased with her. I’m trying y’all and I’ll keep going till I can sorta get it right. She did get a new crocheted dress to celebrate her new to the world status!

Hitty Marigold has been such a good little Hitty, so I thought I would make her another new dress!

Now I've fiddled with her again. She didn’t like her hairline, so we adjusted it. And…she wanted darker lips so we adjusted that too! These girls can be sooooo particular about their looks!!

Just Having Fun

When a new Hitty is born, she always asks for a crocheted dress - so I’ve been busy.

Left to right: Hitty Phoebe, Hitty Camille and Hitty Lacey. Sitting is Hitty Rosey and of course Tang. They wanted to go to the park and pick some flowers.
