What's New Pussy Cat!

My granddaughter's birthday was getting near so I decided to make her something. She loves kitty cats and has a pretty little tuxedo kitty named Rosebud so I thought I would make her a little girly kitty!

 

 Here she is looking all prim and proper in her pretty dress and blond hair.

 

 

 I kinda made up my pattern, well, not really as I used a Tilda doll pattern for her body and made up her kitty cat head. After she was sewn and stuffed, I painted on her little face. She had to have big blue eyes and a little pink nose like "Rosebud" has.

Her hair is blond and very long. I don't know if you can tell but a few inches down from her waist is an opening in her skirt for her tail to be free! That's important for a little pussy cat!

Now this pussy cat is very prissy and feminine and wears a necklace. She loves her bling.

There you have it - a new little kitty cat, um, I mean, pussy cat doll for my little granddaughter.

Oh, My Goodness!

Uh oh!

This is a warning to you ~ please be warned to be really careful when you leave your Hittys at home alone. I made the mistake of leaving my laptop on while I was away and when I got home!!! Oh, my goodness! Last week I had worked so hard on an organizational newsletter for my husband, I'm the editor. Anyway, I found my Hittys and they had pulled up that newsletter and with all of my hard work and had copied and pasted pictures of Hitty on top of each page!!! 

Yikes!! They just looked so cute working away that I just couldn't scold them!

It's All In the Details

 Just before I let my little Texas History Dolls go, I just needed to capture their pictures just one more time. Below you will will see each little girl in all of her sweet little rag doll glory...

She looks like such a good obedient little girl, don't you think?

I think this little girl's family must have settled in Texas from Sweden.

This one seems to be just a little bit feisty.

She is one of the older girls and will watch after the little ones.

Oh, honey! Don't be scared!

This little girl loves to give hugs!

This little red head will help tend to the little ones.

This little gal is a bit bossy!

I love doing hair and hear you can see all of the different styles the girls have.

You must always have nice little booties to wear. Especially with little buttons on your shoes to match you dress.

Little Rag Dolls For Texas!

 I have a friend who is involved with the Sons of the Republic of Texas and wanted to start an early Texas Trunk History! They were going to prepare trunks (large plastic bins) to be filled with toys from when Texas became an independent state, sometime in the 1830s. Other things would be included also to teach early Texas history.

So...my friend asked if I would like to make some little rag dolls to go in each of the trunks and of course I said, "Yes!" So I got busy making my patterns for little rag dolls dressed appropriately!

This was my first rag doll I made for the trunks. She turned out pretty cute but she was a big girl about 26" tall. I knew I would not make the rest of these little dolls so big as it would take me forever!

Here you can see the larger ones and they stand about 16" or so. I gave these girls some shoes and lots of pretty hair.

Here's one more big girl with blond pig tails and three little girls who are about 8" tall. Again look at their little hair. For me that was the most fun!

This is kind of a repeat of the girls. My fingers were tired but I do hope the little children like seeing my little rag dolls. I didn't want to be forgotten so I added my name label in the back of their dresses at the hem! I'm so special like that!

A Little Barbieing

I have always loved making doll clothes and the first clothes I ever sewed was for my Barbie. Well, this is not my original Barbie but she is modeling some clothes I've made that will go to my granddaughter's Barbie

I love to make these little clothes for Barbie and I think my little girl side pops right out!

The Living Room

Now it was time to finish the living room. Wallpaper is hung. Over the fireplace is a lovely mirror and a collection of plates!

 The girls love blue so there is a blue door, blue fireplace surround, blue mirror and even a little round blue table in front of the window!

The Hittys brought in their little baby grand piano and Hitty Everly began to play some very lovely music. This girls are just so talented. Two little arm chairs were borrowed until the girls could get the correct furniture they wanted. 

The girls wanted to show you their two new day beds they made. So functional for such a small place. Tang seems to really like it. Notice the color - blue!

The daybeds will work for guests when they come for a sleep over.

The daybeds are perfect for sitting, visiting and cuddling with Tang.

The Hittys are so proud of themselves for making the perfect little blue daybeds! Tang approves.

Bunny

My friend was having a birthday and I wanted to make something for her. She loves bunnies and collects all sorts. So...I grabbed my hook and yarns and decided to crochet her a little girly bunny.

Here she is and I think she turned out pretty cute. She is all dressed up in her little pink frock and has special pink bows around her little ankles and in her hair. Bunnies have hair, didn't you know that?

The Kitchen

Now that the bedroom is done so the girls can sleep, it's time to fix up the kitchen so they can eat! 

There's Hitty Everly resting again. She is a hard worker. You can see the appliances here.

And here. But they are images, copied and pasted down onto the wallpaper. Some little decals were added to make them so cute.

Above the wall cabinets are a collection of plates and serving pieces, Quimper Pottery.
 

Copper molds are hung above a Hitty calendar.

Tang is sitting at the back door. He loves the blue color. More copper molds hung above the window and there is a large clock over the door so the time can be seen from far away.

Now the kitchen is finished! The table and chairs are in and Tang and Hitty Caroline are waiting patiently as Hitty Everly cuts each a nice piece of fresh baked bread.

The Bedroom

The Bedroom

 Here we are in the bedroom. The wallpaper is up, there are window covering, pictures of the family are up and there are even a scattering of little butterflies on the walls. The girls love butterflies.

Hitty Everly is very tired after hanging all of the wallpaper so she's resting a bit.

The girls even placed their names over the little beds. Speaking of beds...

I made two sets of bunk beds but with all of the Hittys around these beds would have to stay put in the big Hitty house.

So...I made little twin beds for the Hittys. Of course we got new bed linens, a new homemade lamp and I made a little chest also. All of the furnishings got flowers decoupaged on them.

Just a hard day. I think the bedroom was the most important room to do first.

A New House

A New House

It's getting a bit crowded in the Hitty house so Hitty Caroline and HItty Everly have decided to look for a new house just for them and they have just found the perfect little cottage! 

I don’t understand it but when these girls come into this world - they have money! Enough money to buy a house and then some left over! Now they will have their own bedroom to sleep in. The cottage is just next door to the big Hitty house so they can all play together! As they set up house they will share. Happy cottage little girls!

 Isn't it so cute! They paid cash for it and were ready to move right in but they would have to work on it first.

Here is the back of the house. The girls were able to bring over some outside furniture. You can see Tang came too in the little red wagon. Tang will bop back and forth from this little cottage to the big Hitty house.

 

 Just so you can see it, this is the girl's cottage. It's a fold up doll house so it can be put away if needed because our room where all the Hittys live is rather small.

 

The girls really love their little cottage and they wanted to show you how convenient it can be!
