Crocheted Dresses

I got all smarty pants and decided my girls needed some new crocheted dresses for spring. So I grabbed by hook and thread and each evening, while watching TV, I crocheted away making Hitty dresses. Below you can feast your eyes on the happy recipients of the new dresses.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have a new girl to introduce you to - meet Hitty Fancy and she was born today and I'm sharing my flowers with her. I have learned from Janet Cordell and Adina Huckins in their Carving Hitty book how to make my Hitty's arm swing past her legs! May not be a big thing to you but I love it - I'm learning!

See? Hitty Fancy is so happy that her little arms can swing pass her legs and don't get caught on them.

Hitty Fancy is pretty proud of herself as she is blending in with my roses.

Just look at Hitty Fancy's slight smile. Do you think I've got a little stinker on my hands?

Nah

Happy Valentine's Day!

Busy in the Kitchen

Life seems to be always busy at the different Hitty houses at our place. Here we find the girls in the kitchen. What are they up to?

See? What did I tell you!! Hitty Annalie is getting out the flour canister, Hitty Blossom has set the table for tea time, Hitty Marvelous (with her back turned) is working at the stove and Hitty Bridgette is adjusting the chairs at the table. Such a busy kitchen.

One reason for being so busy in the kitchen is that the girls got some new pinafores and of course they just assumed - work in the kitchen. So off they went.
Now it's time to model the pinafores: Hitty Blossom.
Hitty Annalie.
Hitty Ivory. She took Hitty Marvelous' place as she had to rush off.
Hitty Bridgette.

Now we'll go back to the kitchen business...

Here is Hitty Bridgette washing dishes. No dirty dishes allowed in the Hitty's kitchen.
Hitty Annalie is busy in the hutch deciding which to choose - flour or sugar?
Oh, my! Here is Hitty Ivory and she is in a debacle! She has a lovely iron skillet but she doesn't know how to cook! Lord, have mercy!!

So...

Just boil the water and we will have tea.
Hitty Blossom says, "aw...a rest after jobs well done."

Hitty Swap

Occasionally, we have a Hitty clothes swap in our Hitty group and I just love to participate. I'm sharing the things I received from my swap partner today and I had to show you! I received for my Hitty two pretty dresses with machine embroidery on them, a beautiful little blue slip, a pinafore from a vintage hanky and lots and lots of pretty vintage trims and hankies! I am just thrilled with my swap gifts!

Look at all of these lovely trims!

A pretty purple dress with a lovely blue slip underneath.

Another pretty dress with lovely machine embroidery on it!

A cute little hanky pinafore.

Now these are the things I sent my swap partner:

I made a couple of dresses, two bonnets, a crocheted blankie and pillow and a homemade Hitty card.
I made the bonnets from felt and embellished them.

This dress was hand embroidery and I also made some matching pataloons.
The blankie and pillow.

Now before I mailed off my swap, my Hittys wanted to try everything on.

The girls just didn't know what to think that I made clothing for another Hitty! So that is why they wanted to try every thing on.
