Today, I would like to show you inside the Hitty Crate Room Box house. I've taken the front off and now let's go inside. Now grab a Diet Dr. Pepper and get some popcorn as this is going to be a long post.

Let's start in the living room.
I
made everything in here except the desk in the corner. I added little stick on lights to help light up the rooms. Again all of the furniture is made from foam core board.
I
made the little camel back sofa and chair, not my best job, but fun and
they will work. The little end table and coffee table are made from
foam core board with little wooden legs. Now that lamp is not good but
it will have to do for now and I need to make some pillows for the sofa
and chair. Are we ever done decorating? Nah!

Now kinda squint when you look at the fireplace. I got my little wood pieces a tad bit crooked! Hey, nothing's perfect, right?
Again, it's made from foam core board with a little wood poked on! I probably should make another fireplace as this looks pretty pitiful!
I
found the image of the mirror and cut it out, glued it on some foam
core board and hung it up. Same thing on the mantel clock. I made the
little Staffordshire dogs many years ago from polymer clay.
Now the
Hittys wanted pictures of themselves hanging in the living room too.
I
made a little little floral and found another sweet Hitty portrait.
Now moving on to the kitchen which is stacked in the middle of the Crate Box Room House.
First off, I want to show you the cabinet and sink area of the kitchen. I've made everything here except the little pottery pots on the left and the serving pieces on the right. Well, and not the geese either!
Here is the pink sink. The Hittys wanted an apron sink and that is what I made them and painted some flowers on it. The sink faucet is a cut paper clip with little beads glued on. Oops! There's dirty dishes in the sink!
You always have to have a place to sit in the kitchen so we have a table
and chairs. I made and painted the little drop leaf table but didn't
make the chairs although I painted the flowered trim.
The girls wanted a pink and green kitchen and of course they must have a pink fridge! It's always nice to have a window in the kitchen. I used a piece of pretty flowery lace for the window topper. I'm
pretty proud of my stove. I found the lovely graphic and glued it to
the front of my foam board and then continued to make the stove. The
pink shelf above it is made from Popsicle sticks. The little canned
goods are made from cut pieces of a small glue stick and I glued labels
on them. And that is the kitchen.
One more room to show you - the bedroom:

If you look at the ceiling, you can see the stick on lights I put on each ceiling to light up the room. Here are Hittys
Violette, April and Sunshine playing. Tang of course is getting all the love
I
made the beds in here. I made a bunk bed set and then a single bed. The
headboards and footboards have the same little images on them and again, from foam core board. I made
new linens just for these beds
I didn't make the dresser and chest but I did paint the embellishments on them.

The Hittys always want sweet things to hang on their walls and I aim to please them.
The girls are just plumb tuckered out after hosting their home tour. So they hopped in their new beds with their dollies to take a nap. Poor little Tang looks a bit stunned - he was left out.
Hope you've enjoyed the tour!
