Dolls for Hittys

Hitty Annalie and Hitty Edra wanted dolls. You know me, I do what I can for my girls. So I tried my hand at clothespin dolls. They certainly aren’t perfect but I jointed their limbs with elastic cord, probably didn’t do that right either. But it seems to be working. The Hittys are just thrilled to have a couple of little dolls to play with and of course I had to crochet the dolls dresses.

Here are the Hittys with their new dolls!

The little bitty Hitty dolls are thrilled to be alive and being played with. Life is so good in Hittyville!

Oh, my goodness! They are waving at me!

New Dresses for Sunday School

The girls are on their way to Sunday School this morning but wanted me to make them rainbow dresses. They learned about Noah, the ark and the rainbow last week and insisted on rainbow dresses. Well, I made them their dresses. They also want to wear their new dresses to school. What good sweet girls I have!

The girls also want to wear their new dresses to school. I think we can handle that!

Meet Dusty

One little boy among a bunch of little girls can get lonely. Little Bubba was lonesome so I carved him a friend. Meet Dusty. He is wearing the same crocheted overalls until I can make him some proper clothes. I am through carving for a while as my hands are still screaming! I think I’ve carved too many days without a break! Ouch!

As you can see, he has blond hair, blue eyes and little freckles. He seems to be a very sweet little boy. I just can't deal with little stinkers!

Bubba and Dusty are getting along splendidly and are having a great time playing!

The girls couldn't wait to meet Dusty and they are really pleased to have another little boy join the group!

Good morning,my Hitty Friends! After I carved Hitty Annalie and Bubba last week, I couldn't stop so I carved two more Hittys but my hands said 'ouch', so I had to take a break. So today I wanted to introduce you to Hitty Edra on the left (Edra was my mother's middle name) and Hitty Rue. They are very happy to be alive.

                                                                     Meet Hitty Edra.

Playing Outside and Bigfoot!!

Hitty Annalie and Bubba wanted to go outside and play. Bubba saw the windchimes hanging from the tree and encouraged Hitty Annalie that she could do this. She was a little afraid but she climbed up and they were so proud of themselves and asked if I would take their picture. Well, here are my brave little wooden children swinging in the breeze.

Next Hitty Annalie and Bubba found a turtle to ride around outside. Hang on, kids!

It was time for lunch so the kids came inside to eat but then...

Oh, no! We heard something loud outside so Bubba and Hitty Annalie went out to see what it was - it was BIG FOOT! Oh, my goodness! Hitty Annalie was so scared that she fell down but Bubba came to her rescue, helped her up and they flew back inside! They said no more going outside for a while.           Lord, have mercy!

Hitty Annalie and Bubba

For two years I have been trying to carve a Hitty face to look like a little girl! I just couldn't get it right because they always ended up looking like teenagers. Well, I think I finally carved a little girl Hitty! I would like to introduce you to Hitty Annalie!

Well, again, I couldn't stop so I thought I would try my hand at carving a little boy, so meet little Bubba! He and Hitty Annalie are going to be brother and sister. Hope you like my little children.

 Meet Hitty Annalie.

More New Hittys

Well, I seemed to have had another Hitty in my head that needed to be carved. I have determined if I wait a week or a few days between carvings, my hands don't get the ouchies! Anyway, please meet new Hitty Macy! She is happy to join the group!

This is little Macy's face. I think she looks a bit shy, don't you?

Of course, Hitty Macy got a new dress and wanted to show you how pretty she looks in it!

It's always fun to have another Hitty join my ever growing Hitty family!

Happenings in the Hitty Crate Room Box House

Seems like a lot is going on in the crate room box house today. Let's see what the little boogers are up to.

Hitty Annalie said she was hungry and was going to cook some breakfast! Hitty Rue is on the lazy side and decided to just sit and wait and hope Hitty Annalie will share. These girls!

Hitty Rosie and Hitty Marigold are playing their little wooden heads off in the living room. Looks like they are playing with dolls, stuffies and the dollhouse is sitting on the coffee table. Not a short word is coming from these little gals - they are just having the best of times!

The Hittys who have been living in this house are Violette, April and Sunshine. They have been having a grand time in their bedroom, playing, they girls just love to play. But they are open to other Hittys joining them.

Three Rooms in the Crate Room Box House

Today, I would like to show you inside the Hitty Crate Room Box house. I've taken the front off and now let's go inside. Now grab a Diet Dr. Pepper and get some popcorn as this is going to be a long post.

Let's start in the living room.  I made everything in here except the desk in the corner. I added little  stick on lights to help light up the rooms. Again all of the furniture is made from foam core board.

I made the little camel back sofa and chair, not my best job, but fun and they will work. The little end table and coffee table are made from foam core board with little wooden legs. Now that lamp is not good but it will have to do for now and I need to make some pillows for the sofa and chair.                 Are we ever done decorating? Nah!

Now kinda squint when you look at the fireplace. I got my little wood pieces a tad bit crooked! Hey, nothing's perfect, right? 🙃 Again, it's made from foam core board with a little wood poked on! I probably should make another fireplace as this looks pretty pitiful!

I found the image of the mirror and cut it out, glued it on some foam core board and hung it up. Same thing on the mantel clock. I made the little Staffordshire dogs many years ago from polymer clay.

Now the Hittys wanted pictures of themselves hanging in the living room too.

I made a little little floral and found another sweet Hitty portrait.

Now moving on to the kitchen which is stacked in the middle of the Crate Box Room House.

First off, I want to show you the cabinet and sink area of the kitchen. I've made everything here except the little pottery pots on the left and the serving pieces on the right. Well, and not the geese either!

Here is the pink sink. The Hittys wanted an apron sink and that is what I made them and painted some flowers on it. The sink faucet is a cut paper clip with little beads glued on. Oops! There's dirty dishes in the sink!

You always have to have a place to sit in the kitchen so we have a table and chairs. I made and painted the little drop leaf table but didn't make the chairs although I painted the flowered trim.
The girls wanted a pink and green kitchen and of course they must have a pink fridge! It's always nice to have a window in the kitchen. I used a piece of pretty flowery lace for the window topper.

I'm pretty proud of my stove. I found the lovely graphic and glued it to the front of my foam board and then continued to make the stove. The pink shelf above it is made from Popsicle sticks. The little canned goods are made from cut pieces of a small glue stick and I glued labels on them.

And that is the kitchen.

One more room to show you - the bedroom:

If you look at the ceiling, you can see the stick on lights I put on each ceiling to light up the room. Here are Hittys Violette, April and Sunshine playing. Tang of course is getting all the love
I made the beds in here. I made a bunk bed set and then a single bed. The headboards and footboards have the same little images on them and again, from foam core board. I made new linens just for these beds

I didn't make the dresser and chest but I did paint the embellishments on them.

The Hittys always want sweet things to hang on their walls and I aim to please them.

The girls are just plumb tuckered out after hosting their home tour. So they hopped in their new beds with their dollies to take a nap. Poor little Tang looks a bit stunned - he was left out.

Hope you've enjoyed the tour!

Happy 4th!

My new Hittys wanted to wish you all a very happy 4th of July!  I made them all new Patriotic dresses and of course they wanted to show the...
