Let The Dressing Begin
Now that my Hitty doll is complete she had to have a name. All Hittys names start with Hitty whatever. I named my new Hitty - Hitty Addie after my grandmother. Her name was Adalaide but everyone called her Addie. So I would like you to meet Hitty Addie. Isn't she a pretty girl!
We cannot not have a naked Hitty doll so as soon as I had
my doll all put together I started to make her some clothes. Gail Wilson
added fabrics to her kit along with patterns so this was easy. I've
been making cloth dolls a very long time and of course I've sewed their
clothes too so this was going to be fun!
Here
Hitty Addie stands in her new dress! She is just so happy to have some
clothes on. You'll notice the little furniture behind her. I used to
make miniature furniture and made the chair, lamp and fireplace. Hitty
Addie is happy to have a cozy place to sit.
Uh
oh, Hitty Addie is a prim and proper young lady but she is showing you
her pantaloons as every proper Hitty doll wears them. Also the fabric,
lace and pattern was included in the kit. Since her little legs are
cloth, she can't stand on her own so I poked a little small wooden dowel
on a round piece of wood and stuck it up the back of her dress and now
she can stand alone! Woo hoo!Now it was time to make Hitty Addie her apron, also included in the kit. Now I didn't finish the top of the apron Gail Wilson's way, I just did my own thing.
Next I decided I would make her a little headband with a red rose on it. I used the really narrow elastic and sewed it together to make a circle and sewed down the little rose. How cute she looks!
Poor Hitty Addie - she's just worn out with all the dressing and such so she just had to lay down. She took off her dress and apron and is about to lay down on the sofa and take a nap. She says she'll see you later.Keep playing!
