Our House Is A Very, Very, Very Fine House

It seems I don't know when to stop. My clothespin girls could not just hang around my sewing/doll room, they needed a place to live. They needed a house! So...

I made a house for my clothespin girls! Ain't it purdy??? A nice three story yellow house and a little front stoop so the girls can sit out on their sort of porch.
Here you can see the side of the house. The house is made entirely of foam board that I hot glued and duck taped together. Duck tape makes great hinges! Can you see the little swing hung from the tree branch? The girls love to play.
Here is the other side of the house. You can see there are pretty shade trees. I searched online and found the doors, windows, bricks and greenery I like and then printed them out on card stock and glued them down to the house.
Now let's go inside.

Here is a look at the entire inside. I don't have windows placed in yet or pictures. I'll get to that. You can see I added lights. Not the correct way, I know, but I found some cute round fairy lights and put them in.

Here is the living room. I made all of these furnishings years ago. I had a doll house that was smaller than a 1:12, so I had to make most of the furniture. Oh, the girls have a visitor. You can read about her HERE.

This is the foyer with parkay flooring. I also made the little chair and table. Here  you can see the light. We certainly do need a window in here.

Now we are in the dining room. This table and chairs are vintage, around the late 1940s, Strombecker furniture Just perfect for this house.

Here is the kitchen and I see another little visitor! More me-made kitchen furniture. I don't really like these and will probably make some more one day. Sure do need some windows in here. I will get to that one day.

The bedroom! More Strombecker furniture. I know it takes away the value of vintage pieces when you paint them, but I didn't like the wood finish on these pieces and painted them all a nice bright yellow. I added little flowers for prettiness. Need windows but man, you can sure see the lights!

The bathroom also has the vintage Strombecker furniture. I painted these too. I thought a soft gray would look wonderful in a little bathroom.

There you have the newly built house for the clothespin dolls! I think they are going to like it.

Keep Playing!
